BeScreenCapture - Record your Desktop activity

System: BeOS, Haiku, Zeta

With BeScreenCapture you can record your moves on the desktop. This is importand, when you want to explain anyone your owen software or other things with a video.

BeScreenCapture is included into ZETA and you can find it under Software/Video. If the app is not installed you can get it here.



Start the application in order to setup the record area.

Enter the target file at File name: If you dont change this part the file will be saved as outputVideo in your Home- folder.

Choose your output video format at Output Format:: Here you can change between all system video formats (example: AVI, Quicktime, Mpeg…).

Choose the Codec to compress the recorded file. Here you can change between all system codec (example: DivX, Indeo5…).

If you activate Shrink movie to BeScreenCapture will record the movie in that size you are enter in the textcontrols Width and Heigth. If you dont activate this option, BeScreenCapture record the complete Screen.



In the Capture Area you can choose between a selected area or the complete screen to record (Whole screen).



If you select Custom Area press Select and mark the part of the screen you want to record (the select area is a duplicate of your screen, the system is not freezed ;-)). You mark the part of the screen with the mouse. Press left (permanent) mousebutton and move it from the left/upper site to the right/bottom site in the screen. This is interesting, if you want to show a user only your application not the full screen. If you have selected the wanted area, stop pressing the mousebutton.

Finaly you can presse Start Recording to create you movie. If you do this the BeScreenCapture window don’t close. So you need to do a doubleclick on the TAB to minimize it.

You can minimize the window automaticly if you activate Minimize when recording starts in the settings.

To stop recording using the Stop Recording Button (same place as Start Recording). If the BeScreenCapture window is minimized, open the window over the tracker and press Stop Recording.

Under Advanced Options you find some options for setup the number of screen per second. This options are for Record and Play.
